Seagull, a computer-based training systems provider, announced that it acquired all shares for MindIT Solutions AS, an e-learning specialist company based in Norway.
Seagull is the foremost provider of computer-based training for seafarers worldwide. They offer a vast library of onboard courses and e-learning options for improved seafarer education and regulatory compliance. Mind IT Solutions AS provides web-based training for the offshore industry.
According to Oscar Johansen, Chairman of Seagull Holding AS, “The Mind IT team is a reliable and high quality supplier of e-learning services to the offshore market and represents a basis for Seagull AS to enter the offshore segment. By combining the resources of the two companies we can now bring a unique range of distance learning and assessment services to the offshore industry and the Mind IT team will add to the creativity and capacity of the Seagull team”.
Mr. Johansen continued, “This is one of several planned steps to become a leading provider of training tools and talent management solutions for the offshore industry, and it will contribute to Seagull’s offering to existing clients who operate offshore vessels.”
In a statement, Seagull expressed that coordinating the companies’ separate activities is an ongoing process.
